St Mary’s Church Greasley
Where did you get married? St Mary’s Church Greasley, we chose it because it’s a very beautiful church with great views and is also our parish church.
Where was your reception? Morley Hayes, we chose it because we have been there before for meals and drinks and also people we know have had parties there. The food and rooms and help they provide for the wedding reception was great.
What was on your menu? Tomato and basil soup with crème fraiche award winning bangers and spring onion and bacon mash with baked vanilla cheesecake and mascarpone and vanilla crème for dessert.
Tell us about your wedding rings. They were from smooch rings and are matching white gold and palladium rings with the wedding date engraved on the outside with roman numerals.
Tell us about your cake. The cake was made by kimbos cakes it was a three tier suitcase, with the bride and groom figures sat on the top case, the flavours were lemon sponge with lemon and vanilla cream. and carrot cake.

Who supplied your flowers, what did you have? Bees Flowers of Kimberley supplied my bouquet, it was red and ivory roses with green foliage in it. it was quiet simple looking but very beautiful.
Who designed your dress and where did it come from? My dress came from a shop called pearl boutique in Westfield Centre Derby.
What shoes did you wear? I chose my shoes from next retail and they were an ivory ruffled fabric with a kitten heel.
Who did your make-up? My make up was done at Minx beauty on Bath Street Ilkeston and my hair was done by Shaun who owns Hairway to Heaven on Station Rd Ilkeston and yes I would definitely recommend them both.

Did you have cars? if so what and who supplied them? Regency Cars from Chesterfield and it was a very beautiful cream Badsworth car with an open top at the back. A very courteous and friendly driver called Chris Rushworth who is also the owner of this fabulous car.
What was your first dance to and why? Always by Bon Jovi, we just like the words plus it was the only song we both agreed on, plus Shaun chose the hymns so I had the final say.
How long were you in planning your wedding? About 16 months from booking the church and venue for reception which was the first thing we did.
Were you on budget? We did go slightly over our budget but not by a massive amount plus it was made worthwhile as it was a fantastic day from start to finish.
What advice would you give a couple planning their wedding? Give yourself plenty of time as we had 16 months to do it in. We didn’t realise how much you have to plan and organise during that time. Keep a folder with all your planning in it and make a checklist to remind you what you have done and still to do.
What is the brides most memorable part of the day? My most memorable part was when the vicar pronounced us husband and wife and my husband kissed me.
What is the grooms most memorable part of the day? Turning and seeing Danielle walk down the aisle and thinking great she’s turned up. Only joking. When I turned around and saw Danielle walk down the aisle in her dress and thinking I’m the luckiest man alive.
