What date did you get married? 06/10/2012
Where did you meet? We met at work!
Where did he propose? There wasn’t really a proposal, we both knew we wanted to get married anyway. He took me shopping in Derby and when we got there he asked me to help him choose my engagement ring.
Where did you get married? We got married at St Peter’s Church in Parwich which is the village where I grew up. We chose it because we both wanted a church wedding and also because of the connection I have with the parish.
Where was your reception? We had our reception at The Royal Oak Mayfield in The Coach House as we had heard many good reviews! It was in a good location and the food there is delicious!
Who was your caterer? The Royal Oak
What was on your menu? Starter – Spicy parsnip soup
Main – Roast beef dinner with all the trimmings Pudding – Sticky toffee pudding or fresh fruit pavlova
Tell us about your wedding rings. We bought our rings from Ernest Jones in Derby. Richard’s is a plain palladium band and mine is white gold with a single row of diamonds.
Tell us about your cake. We had a beautiful cake made for us by a lady my mum works with. It was a 3 tier cake with hand made purple lizzies, lilac roses, cream roses and white calla lillies-the two top layers were sponge and the bottom tier was a fruit cake. Unfortunately I didn’t get to taste any of the cake as I was too busy boogying the night away! lol
Who supplied your flowers, what did you have? I had my flowers from The Flower Shop of Ashbourne. It was a shower bouquet made up of lilac roses with diamante pins, cream roses, purple lizzies and white calla lillies with a little bit of greenery.

Who designed your dress and where did it come from? I bought my dress from Beau Belles in Borrowash. It was a dress designed by Mori Lee.
What shoes did you wear? My shoes also came from Beau Belles-made by pink.
Who did your make-up? I did my own makeup on the day and a friend of the family did my hair for me.
Did you have cars? if so what and who supplied them? We had a vintage car for our wedding from T&L Vintage cars.
What was your first dance to and why? Our first dance was to Joshua Radin – They bring me to you. Richard picked this because there was a film we liked to watch when we first got together and this song was in the film.
How long were you in planning your wedding? About 16 months!
Were you on budget? We did have a budget originally but we wouldn’t have been able to do it without the help of parents.
What advice would you give a couple planning their wedding? Don’t plan your wedding to suit anyone else other than yourselves because it’s YOUR day!
And definitely try to enjoy the day and take it all in!
What is the brides most memorable part of the day? All of it really! I was just so pleased that the day went so smoothly!
What is the grooms most memorable part of the day? The church ceremony.
