Top tips for choosing your wedding photographer
Whilst choosing a wedding photographer can be a daunting process hopefully, these top tips will give you some points to consider and help you when making your decision.
You are well on the way to your dream wedding, the venue is perfect, you have THE dress, he has the suits. The flowers, cake, and the DJ have been thoroughly researched with plenty of cake samples put away by the groom… but what is the one thing that will forever remain the everlasting memory of your wedding day? Your photos, of course, they will be a beautiful and timeless account of the most important day of your life. Wedding photos help every bride and groom to re-live the romance and excitement of that day over and over again.
One of the most important things to consider is whether you feel at ease with the photographer, If you are not, it will show in the pictures. When you talk to prospective wedding photographers ask yourself if you feel comfortable with them. Are they someone that you can spend the day with? You are more than likely going to spend more time with your photographer on your wedding day than with your maid of honor, Is the photographer someone that will blend naturally with your family and friends? When you look at the photographer’s albums take special care at the group shots, are all the guests looking relaxed?
Another very important characteristic to look for in your wedding photographer is how structured and well-organized they are. A good wedding photographer will ensure everything is organized from the moment you meet them and put you at ease as you talk about your wedding. If a wedding photographer doesn’t listen to you talking about your wedding before providing you with a checklist of suggested photos alarm bells should be ringing. A good wedding photographer will make notes as you talk and be able to suggest ideas for photographs that are in keeping with your wedding theme. Saying that a very good wedding photographer should be able to roll with the punches as the day unfolds. If the light changes and the cloud cover moves your photographer will have a plan for that.
